Come Back Down (JLS Version)

about

While on tour in November, Andrew got a call from his dad saying he was sick but didn't know the severity of the situation. After the last show, he turned the van around and spent his last dime to go back through to Saskatchewan.

At the cancer clinic in Regina, the doctors told them that he had the worst type of thyroid cancer called anaplastic thyroid cancer. It is very aggressive and is not curable. Sadly, the doctor has given Andrew's father a few weeks to a few months to live.

While the news is tragic, Andrew's father is reportedly in good spirits…and at the moment, that is very important.

On the morning of December 2, Andrew took some time to step away and record this version of Come Back Down in the Allen Blair Cancer Clinic parking lot in the tour van. Originally written through his father's eyes years ago, the song is now even more heartbreakingly poignant under the current circumstances.

This song is a free download and if you wish to leave a donation, all the proceeds will go to helping Andrew and his family relocate his father back to Vancouver so he can get more focused treatment and care.

Thank you in advance for all your prayers. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this time.

lyrics

the mad night
calls for me
it calls for me

(and) i follow
as it leads
as it leads

this halo
around my neck
around my neck

(and) my knees fall
they’re coming down
it’s coming down

i lost my way
some time ago
i’m coming home
i’ve no where to go

i embraced the clouds
but when i soared
it rained

i’ll come back down
i’m on my way

we can drink
and sing about
and sing about

how i would
rob a bank
you know i would

to feed you
and care for you
i’d watch you grow

to raise you
but not like this
not like this

sometimes i fall
sometime i’ll crawl

my eyes are
constantly searching for
something more
than these empty hands

i lost my way
sometime ago
i’m coming home
i’ve no where to go

i embraced the clouds
but when i soared
it rained

i’ll come back down
i’m on my way
